---April 11, 2008 Olympic Torch Relay Ends in Buenos Aires
The 2008 Olympic torch relay concluded in Buenos Aires after a 13.8 kilometer journey through the capital city of Argentina on Friday. This is the first time in Olympic history that the Olympic flame passed through the Latin American city.
---April 5, 2008 Olympic flame leaves Istanbul for St. Petersburg
The last torchbearer in Istanbul, Taner Sagir, the weightlifting gold medalist in the 77-kg category at Athens 2004, reached Taksim Square at 7:00 p.m. (GMT +3) to light the cauldron, concluding the second leg of the Beijing Olympic Torch Relay outside of the Chinese mainland.

---March 30, 2008 Sacred Flame Waves Goodbye to Greece
Beijing took over the Olympic torch relay with the successful ending of the torch handover ceremony, taking place in Panathenaikon Stadium, the site of the of the first modern-day Olympic games.

Today, in Olympia, Greece, the Olympic birthplace, the High Priestess successfully lit the sacred flame by the traditional ritual of using only the rays of the sun and a parabolic mirror.

---March 22, 2008 Greek Priestess Lights First Flame In Olympia
Priestesses for the Beijing Olympic torch lighting ceremony successfully lit a flame using a parabolic mirror during a rehearsal on March 20 at the Ancient Olympia site, Xinhuanet reported.
According to the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC), the priestesses began rehearsals in Olympia beginning March 18, But due to inclement weather, they were unable to obtain a flame on March 19.

---February 24, 2008 The Water Cube- A Green Architectural Wonder!
The construction of the National Aquatics Center, or the "Water Cube," has topped off. The "Water Cube" was built in accordance with a water-saving design concept to be a gigantic green architectural wonder.The "Water Cube" was designed with water-saving and environmental protection efforts. According to statistics, the outer surface and roof facade can "collect" 10,000 tons of rain water, 70,000 tons of clean water and 60,000 tons of swimming pool water annually. And the venue can also save 140,000 tons of recycled water a year.WOW!

---February 23, 2008 Singapore Hosting First Summer Youth Olympic Games
The International Olympic Committee has announced that Singapore will host the first Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2010.
The result was unveiled by the IOC President, Jacques Rogge, at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Singapore beat Moscow in the final by 53 votes to 44.

Three days before the Lunar New Year of the Rat, which falls on February 7 this year, China's tennis player Zheng Jie, Yan Zi, Sun Tiantian, Yu Xinyuan and Zeng Shaoxuan recorded a colorful ring back tone and showed a set of Chinese traditional spring couplets to extend their best wishes to the sport of tennis and the people throughout China. ---January 26, 2008 New Glassy Coat for new CCTV Building!
Glaziers have been busy since Wednesday with the construction of the glass exterior of CCTV Television Station and Headquarters. The 234-meter-tall skyscraper located in the capital's downtown area will open for use on January 1, 2009. And the building's Television Cultural Center (TVCC) will inaugurate for live Olympic broadcasting during the Beijing Olympic Games. In 2007, the skyscraper was listed as one of the "Top 10 Architectural Wonders of the Year" by Time Magazine.View the images of the contruction of the CCTV Television Tower!
